Birmingham Suit Amnesty - the day itself!

The first ever Birmingham Suit Amnesty successfully took place on Friday 12th October 2007.

37 organisations from acrossd the city took part, including Mills & Reeve, Wragge & Co, Barclays Wealth, Deloittes and many more. All in all 723 suits were collected throughout the day in Hall 6 at the ICC in Birmingham.

Throughout the day a number of charities visited the ICC to lay claim to their chosen suits including St Basils, WAITS and Turning Point.

From 07.30 - 17.00 volunteers from Mail Wash and Mail Couriers travelled around the city collecting suits from the various companies before dropping them off at the ICC where a group of merry helpers sorted, tagged and racked the suits.

A big thank you has to be given to everyone involved in making the Suit Amnesty a success that is was. Special mention must be given to:

Fidelis Hynam for her ongoing enthusisam for the initiative and making contact with the charities who have been involed.
Lisa Page from Wragge & Co for co-ordinating the logistics of sorting the suits on the day.

The ICC for providing the space for the event.
The Birmingham Post for providing ongoing support and PR throughout the initiatve.
